Seconded. Approved unanimously. Approval of Minutes • 05/02/2019 Amend spelling of Bruce Thron-Weber. Brian Smith moved to approve as amended 05/02/2019 minutes. Approved unanimously. Music Directors’ Reports Mike Lucas: N/A Rick Mongrain Rick will be gone 5th of August Harvest Festival is a work in progress and a possibility. Officer Reports President–Amanda Jakl: Vice President–Roger Oram: Nothing to report Secretary – Cristina Baker Nothing to report Treasurer–JessMess: Nothing to report Scholarship Coordinator–Brian Smith: Nothing to report Other Reports Operations Manager–Bruce Thron-Weber: Bruce Provided notes to be read: We are advertising on Craig’s List for percussion, French horn, baritone horn, tenor sax and flute players. Supported Jazz Combo for Edgewater Market and music as well as Arvada Harvest Festival. Discussion Items Scholarship New Scholarship Application - Beginning Oboe Discussion for scholarship application Brian Smith moved to provide for full scholarship for application from an Oboe player. Approved unanimously. Amanda and Brian to meet to discuss scholarship counts; how many we currently are giving out and how many we can give within our budget Assistant Conductor Trial proposed for one semester. Dues to be waived during trial period. Assistant conductor gets paid if Mike is absent Contract to be made by Amanda for trial period and to be sent to Mike before next week. Graphic Designer Pay Increase Graphic designer no longer getting compensated by RRCC for MHCB work. Cristina Baker moved to increase hourly pay from MHCB for graphic designer from $11/hr to $15/hr. Approved unanimously. Piano Our current electric piano is too heavy and not fully working. Could sell current piano for $150-200 and purchase new Cassio piano for $200. It is small and easy to move around. Cristina to post and attempt to sell on Craig’s List. Barb Lichtenstein moved to sell our current Korg Piano. Approved unanimously. President Amanda’s Son isn’t participating in MHCB anymore so she is stepping down as President. Cristina Baker interested in President position. Change to be made at November meeting. All Band Meeting We need to recruit board members and get a new secretary. Sign up sheet to be made for members to volunteer for concert help, especially members on scholarship. List to include: Setup/Teardown help for rehearsals and concerts, Librarian assistant, donation boxes, zip code collection, sound system setup, fundraising connections and outreach, percussion support moving instruments For the good of the cause Diversity Survey Risa to send the summary of results to the board for review.
